Tamko Gutter Replacement: The Ventura Owner’s Guide
Most Tamko gutter replacement jobs in Ventura run between $18 and $32 per linear foot installed, including removal of the old run, new hangers, sealing, and cleanup. We stock Tamko-compatible gutter profiles on our trucks, and we can usually replace a failed section the same week you call. Homeowners typically discover the problem after a winter storm: water pouring over the front edge instead of through the downspout, or a section of gutter sagging away from the fascia board with visible rust streaks down the siding.
Tamko makes solid aluminum and steel gutter products, but like every gutter system in coastal Ventura County, they take a beating from salt air, Santa Ana winds, and the leaf debris that piles up in the fall. When a section fails, it’s rarely the whole system. Usually it’s one run, a few hangers, an end cap, or a downspout elbow. Our job is to figure out what actually failed, match the profile and finish to what’s already on the house, and replace only what needs replacing.
Which Tamko Models This Applies To
Tamko gutters come in two main profiles: 5-inch K-style aluminum, which is the standard for most Ventura homes built after 1990, and 6-inch K-style, which we see more often on larger roof planes or homes with tile roofs that dump a lot of water fast. Tamko also produces steel gutters, but those are less common on Ventura homes because the salt air accelerates rust unless they’re factory-coated and maintained perfectly.
The model number is usually printed on the inside of the gutter or on the end cap, but after a few years of sun and rain, that label is often gone. What matters more is the profile: hold a cross-section of your gutter against a K-style template, and if it matches, any Tamko-compatible aluminum gutter in the right width will work. We carry 5-inch and 6-inch K-style in white, brown, and a few stock colors. If your home has a custom color from Tamko’s heritage line, we can order it, but it adds about a week to the job.
One compatibility gotcha we see in Ventura: older homes near the Midtown corridor and the Avenues sometimes have non-standard fascia board thickness. Standard gutter hangers assume a 2x fascia. If your fascia is thinner or already rotting at the nail line, we need to replace or reinforce that wood before we can hang anything that will hold. We’ll photograph it and show you before we quote it.

Signs Your Tamko Gutter Replacement Is Failing
- Water overflowing during normal rain. This often means the gutter is sagging so water pools in the middle instead of running to the downspout. The hangers have pulled loose from the fascia, or the gutter was pitched wrong from day one.
- Visible rust streaks on the gutter face or down the siding. In Ventura’s salt air, factory coating breaks down faster than it does inland. Once bare metal is exposed, the rust spreads and the integrity of the aluminum is compromised.
- Seams separating at corners or end caps. Tamko’s older sectional systems relied on sealant at the joints. That sealant dries out, cracks, and lets water drip against the fascia board, which starts rotting the wood behind it.
- The gutter is pulling away from the house. If you can see daylight between the gutter and the fascia board, the hangers have failed. This is the stage where a full section usually needs replacement rather than a re-hang, because the gutter itself has bent or stretched at the attachment points.
- Downspout elbows disconnected or dumping water at the foundation. This one is a house problem, not just a gutter problem. Water pooling at your foundation in Ventura’s clay-heavy soil leads to settling and crack repair bills that make gutter work look cheap.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For a straightforward section replacement on a single-story Ventura home, expect to pay $270 to $480 per section, including the gutter run, hangers, end caps, sealing, and haul-away of the old material. A second-story section adds labor and ladder setup time, so plan on $390 to $620. Full gutter replacement on an average 1,800-square-foot single-story home in Ventura typically lands between $2,800 and $4,900, depending on linear footage, number of downspouts, and whether fascia repair is needed.
What drives the price up: rotten fascia boards, custom colors, steep roofs, homes with clay tile that requires extra care around the ladder, and runs longer than 40 feet that need expansion joints. What keeps the price honest: we price by the linear foot with a written scope of work before we start. If the number on the quote is $430, the invoice says $430. We don’t discover problems at the door and pad the bill. If we open up a section and find rotted fascia, we photograph it, text it to you, and get your sign-off before we touch it. No change orders without your eyes on it first.
Every gutter replacement we do carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something fails on that section within a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s in writing, included with every job.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely inspect your own gutters from the ground. Look for sag, rust, separation at the seams, and water staining on the fascia. A photo from your phone is usually enough for us to give you a ballpark over the phone. What we don’t recommend is working on gutters from a ladder in Ventura wind conditions. The Santa Anas come through the valleys fast, and even a 12-foot ladder on uneven ground can go sideways quick. Seamless gutter machines are also not a rental item at your local hardware store, which means any DIY replacement means sectional gutters from a big box store. Those have more seams, which means more failure points, which means you’ll be back up there in three years. The savings rarely survive the second repair.
If you want the section matched, sealed correctly, and hung on hangers that won’t pull loose in two winters, call us at (559) 249-4917. We’ll give you a free estimate with a written price before any work starts.
FAQs
Tamko aluminum gutters in Ventura typically last 12 to 20 years, but homes within a half-mile of the coast often see the shorter end of that range because salt air accelerates coating breakdown. Galvanized steel Tamko gutters can fail in as few as 8 years near the water. Call (559) 249-4917 and we can tell you in one visit whether you’re looking at spot replacement or a full system refresh.
Yes, if the damage is limited to loose hangers, separated seams, or a single dent. If the aluminum has stretched at the hanger points, corroded through, or lost its pitch across a full run, replacement is cheaper in the long run. We’ll show you photos of the damage and quote both options when it makes sense.
A single section on a one-story Ventura home usually takes 90 minutes to two hours on site. Full gutter replacement on an average home takes one day. We’ll give you a live arrival time before our technician pulls up, and you’ll get before-and-after photos plus a digital invoice by text when the job is done.
We stock 5-inch and 6-inch Tamko-compatible K-style aluminum in standard colors on our trucks. For custom Tamko colors or steel profiles, we order from our supplier and schedule the install once the material lands, usually within a week. Crestview Roofing Co Ventura is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with Tamko, but we install and replace their gutter systems regularly alongside GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed roofing materials.
